Maybe pre-birth you thought the hardest part of your birth was pushing your baby out -stage two labor. Transition is no joke either! You may be sore and swollen in places you had no idea it would swell. Plus, now you’re totally focused on the wellbeing of your newborn, following his random feeding and sleeping schedule while your body is recovering. As a new mom, getting back into your body post-pregnancy may not be as easy as it was pre-pregnancy. You’re body is recovering from birthing another human being.You may be walking around in a slight stupor, slightly sleep deprived, the first few weeks which can make the healing process longer. Your mind may want to exercise, but your body may be saying otherwise. Remember -probably hard to forget for multiple reasons- you’ve just birthed another human being via your body. Your body may be reminding you of that, especially in the first days and weeks after birth.

Forget intense exercise and “feeling the burn!” You may be feeling a burn in another way. If so, it’s said wearing loose clothing is recommended. Icing your lady parts is recommend, as is spraying it with warm water when using the toilet so that the area is not further irritated.

during beautiful weather, we suggest going outside and walking as your main physical activity. Walking is really one the healthiest things a new mother can do in many ways. It’s an opportunity to meet other new mothers, and it helps with digestion, gets the blood flowing, circulation going, without over doing it.
